Pumpkin Generator HDA for Houdini
I wanted to do something with a Halloween theme and procedural modeling pumpkins seemed the next best thing! It first started yet modelling one pumpkin, but I decided to take it further and create a Pumpkin Generator HDA!
Procedural City v5 (stacking UDIM's)
City HDA can generate different components in the city, including buildings, doorway path for the buildings, windows for the buildings, grassland, roads with UV’s directional flow, and sidewalks with UV’s directional flow, street lamps. This is only the start and I wish to create much more detailed geometry to populate within the city. I’m hoping this will become a great asset in game development or even film for a urban city environment settings.
Export Houdini KineFX Rigs & BlendShapes to Blender
I demonstrate how to Export a Houdini KineFX rig into Blender. The KineFX is made from scratch in Houdini and is attached with retargeted animations. It’s all imported into Blender using FBX format, so it’s compact and clean. You’ll get the fully rig exposed in Blender for further tweaking and animations available in the Action Editor inside the DOPE sheet.

Introducing a new set of Clothing Generators HDA that can be used with the Character Generator HDA to create simple clothing in a fast pace workflow. The Clothing pieces can be stack on top of each other without intersecting on each other.
Character Generator HDA (Body Generator) Ver 1
I created a Character Generator HDA that procedurally generates the Body mesh of a simple character in Houdini. This generator provides a quick way to generator characters for concept design. The generator also provides various parameters to adjust the body build.
Lip Sync Tools (Facial Deformer HDA v3)
This is an updated version of the Lip Sync tools used for animating a character to make it look like its talking using the Voice tools in Houdini.
Head Generator HDA v1 (beta release)
Head Generator HDA! Create different character heads on the fly just by dragging the timeline in Houdini, each unique frame number will generate a different head mesh. Make custom adjustments on the head by tweaking the sliders on the HDA. And it gets better! All onward randomly generate heads will be based on your changes!
CHOPS Voice Tools & Driving Dance Animations
Using Houdini’s voice tools, you can complete the whole Lip Sync process using CHOPS to analyze the audio spectrum in your voice and translate that to your character mesh.
Facial Deformer HDA
Lip Sync in Houdini is possible and EASY! I created a Facial Deformer HDA which generates all the different mouth shapes and spit it all out into blendshapes which are necessary for the Lip Sync workflow! Quick and easy! The best thing about my HDA is that I can use it to make different characters talk with lip sync all within a matter of minutes!
Vellum Hair Advected by Velocity Fields
I demonstrate a simple Vellum Hair setup in Houdini and start moving the hair using Velocity Fields that will be created in Houdini using Curl Noise.
Character Rigs Available!
I think it would be nice to release some of the different character rigs that I’ve used and will continue to use for future projects. You can use these rigs to follow along with the tutorial and try out your own experimental Houdini setups!
