I wanted to use Crowds tool in Houdini to create some educational videos that illustrate how the current Covid-19 virus is spreading so quickly and how Social Distancing is the best solution we have at this time.
I am making the assets I used to create my awareness video available for download. I encourage anyone interested to create more awareness about Covid-19 and social distancing to help the public and community understand what's going on.
This is the 2 meter stay apart social distancing icon or physical distancing icon.
It’s important to maintain 2 meters away from people in public so we as a community can stop the spread of the Covid-19.
Wash your hands icon.
Constantly remind the general public to keep washing their hands periodically.
How can Houdini Help?
As the world enters a new day with lock downs and the world adjusts its life style, I hear more and more brave stories where people are trying their best to help out the situation and save lives. I can’t help it by ask myself how I can help?
At first I wasn’t sure how I could use Houdini to help. It seemed like a very far stretch that a procedural 3D software application could help out a pandemic crisis.
Houdini is famous for Visual Effects and creating visual content, but there was also another unique characteristic of Houdini that may prove to be useful. Houdini is able to process large vast of data in a very optimized workflow. And I’m not only referring to the computational time, but also the VEX code and how VEX works with the visual elements that are rendered.
As an experiment, I am going to use Houdini to produce visual content, which may be videos or posters, or any kind of media type and create more awareness of the situation. After-all, the power of knowledge is very crucial in fighting this battle.
I’m hoping to create more content to help out, but this video is the first one and I’m looking forward to the feedback I get to improve the next content I create in the near future.
