In this mini-series of creating the Vest Part 2, it’s a direct continuation from the previous mini-series on Vest Part 1. In part 1, I had finished generating the Vest geometry and sewn it together with the Vellum Drape node and fixed the front pieces from flying to the back. So in Vest Part 2, I start demonstrating how to create seamless UV’s for the sides of the Vest. I also illustrate the advantages and disadvantages of using seamless UV’s with textures that have images and sometimes the seams can actually come in handy to create stitch lines.

The pants was something I’m still working on. I’m trying to find a way to proceduralize the workflow and hopefully create another HDA for the pants, similar to what I did for the Vest HDA. However the pants is very complicated and very hard to do just manually. I can’t imagine how hard it would be toh to make a Pants Generator HDA!
HDA Collection for Clothes
As of late, I’ve been creating a lot of HDA’s and I’ve been enjoying it a lot! Knots/Belts Generator and Vest Generator! Although these Clothing HDA Generators create simple clothing designs, but I’m hoping to keep building upon them and maybe one day it’ll be more complex and production ready.
At the moment, the HDA’s can be used for proof of concept work. If you have work to be done for a client, sometimes it can be an iterative workflow and I believe my HDA Clothing Generator can come in handy for proof of concepts because of the quick setup.
