Complex poses can be possible and easily done using Houdini’s Full Body IK node combined with layering this node over and over. Each layer of the IK node can be used to pose a portion of the character, for example arms versus legs and further organized into parts. This makes the posing process more efficient and procedural. Each layer or part can be swapped out and replaced for another different pose. For example, if we wanted to change the arms from lifting something to pushing something, it can be easily done by just swapping the arm pose section.
