Oliver Model (textures)

The Oliver 3D model is available for both Perk 1 & Perk 2, but because the textures for the model was too large, I couldn’t fit it all in one file and had to be split.

Expression Presets

This Expressions HDA tool allows you to control facial muscles on the characters’ face by manipulating simple landmark points, which is super easy already, but I thought it would be even better if I added preset facial expressions that I had preset to make the workflow even faster.

Here’s a list of the presets with visual references:

Obstacles

This Facial Expressions HDA tool suited my Oliver character very well, because Oliver’s geometry is a water tight model and doesn’t have any additional separate geometry pieces. As I tested my Facial Expressions HDA tool on various types of different character meshes, I found that my HDA tool couldn’t handle character meshes with additional geometries. Like eyebrows, eyeballs, and maybe even teeth, these can all be separate pieces of geometries within the character model. When I realized this, I started making changes to the Expressions HDA tool to handle the separate geometries.

This Facial Expressions HDA tool can now support character models with loose geometries, for example eyebrows that may be separate geometry from the body mesh. I have added parameters to allow users to specify the separate geometry groups names, but be aware that I can only handle point groups at this moment. So if your character mesh has eyebrows as a primitive group, please remember to promote it to a point group before feeding it into my Expressions HDA.
